The hand-operated air raid siren is an energy-independent alarm and signaling device that used to be employed for air-raid and fire alarms. With minimal effort, maximum volume is achieved. By lightly turning the crank, even at low speed a wailing tone is produced, which increases as the rotational speed rises. By pressing the lever (this opens flaps and lets in additional air) an ear-splitting sound develops that can be heard over a great distance.
Suitable areas of application include public institutions such as schools, fire departments, THW, construction sites, etc. Also suitable for carnival events, as a gag at club parties, in football stadiums, etc.
