Foot loop Footape
The length-adjustable Footape etrier made of abrasion-resistant polyamide webbing is used together with the Ascension rope clamps (ASMC item 53127 & 53324) for ascending a rope. It is an enormous relief especially on a free-hanging rope and enables a fast and, above all, energy-saving ascent.
One of the two Ascension rope clamps is attached to the foot loop, and the load on it allows the climber to unload the second rope clamp, which is connected to the climbing harness, and slide it up. Then you sit in the climbing harness and again slide the rope clamp connected to the foot loop a bit further up. This sequence is repeated until the goal is reached.
The foot section is reinforced against abrasion to make entry easier, and the elastic strap ensures that the foot stays in the stirrup. The size of the foot section is adjustable and thus suitable for all types of footwear.
With the DoubleBack buckle, the height of the foot loop can be adjusted quickly and easily and thus adapted to the body size.
Even when used together with two prusik loops or for tree climbing, the Petzl Footape foot loop is a great help.
